Experience & Qualifications

Mike Lyon is a Partner with CDI Global North America in the Chicago office.

Mike has had a wide range of business experiences as a lawyer in Silicon Valley and as head of strategic planning and acquisition and mergers in several public companies such as GATX and Bally Manufacturing. As an acquisition specialist and investment banker he has reviewed in depth companies in a wide variety of businesses. He has managed a variety of operations in both mature companies and start-ups including mining, steel production, retails, health clubs and hotels. Mike served as President of Wisconsin Steel and held senior legal positions including at Hyatt Corp. Mike is a graduate of Stanford University and Stanford Law School. He spent two years in Santiago de Chile doing research in Agrarian Reform and the allocation of water under the program. He was an adjunct instructor at Stanford Law School on advanced business transactions.
