Insights into M & A in the Energy Sector

With the transformation of the huge Energy Industry Sector from petroleum-based to alternative renewable sources, investment opportunities in these new technologies will be plentiful.

Although the largest increase for conventional fossil fuels will be in India, China, and other non-OECD countries, most of the small and mid-sized M&A transactions in alternative energy will occur throughout every Western Country including solar, wind, biomass, and electrical storage.

New technologies will need new materials.  Solar generation and battery storage alone will require a substantial increase in new materials including rare earth metals requiring new mining and recovery technologies and businesses.

Therefore, the restructuring of the Energy, Utilities, Mining, Oil & Gas Sectors will present a continuous stream of new M&A investment opportunities over at least the next decade; and, will necessitate reinvestment in infrastructure as well as basic manufacturing and new technologies.
